- God Loves you and has plans for your life
“The Lord is merciful and gracious; slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” (Psalm 103:8) The Lord ABOUNDS in Love for each and every one of us, and yearns for a relationship with you. He also wants to change your life and save you from sin. John 10:10 says, “I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance.”
- You are a sinner and your sin separates you from God
We all make “my way or the highway” choices that do not reflect obedience to God. Your heart tends to run from God and Rebel against Him. The Bible calls this “sin.” Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Choosing your way over God’s way is what separates you from God.
- You can’t save yourself
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) You cannot earn salvation, it is a free gift promised by God. He also promises that those who reject His love and gift of atonement through Jesus “will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separate from the Lord and from his glorious power.” (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
- God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier.
God sent Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice, to die in place of our sins, so that we may receive salvation and the gift of eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17)
- You can receive Jesus Christ through faith
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. You receive this gift by faith alone, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesian 2:8-9)
- Through Prayer You can trust in Jesus Christ.
If you trust in God and that Jesus died for your sins, admit your sins and pray for forgiveness. Repent and ask Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
The act of praying to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord is a sincere form of communication with Jesus, and the following is a suggested prayer that you may use:
“Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
